super awesome image! but i imagine twilight has a letter for celestia: dear princess celestia, today i learned that letting a baby dragon ride you in armor will give you an aching back back for 3 weeks. your faithful aching student, twilight sparkle.
This looks really good, especially the armor on Spike! The dogs could have used a little more lighting though. I know they are supposed to look dark and evil, but because they are in the dark so much, you can barely notice them apart from the one most in front, because his armor reflects the light fairly well. Having some light rays reflect off of some gems in the ground, onto the diamond dogs might have been an idea, though it would probably make the scene a bit too colourfull.
Anyone else having problems with seeing the diamond dogs, and if so, any suggestions for how they might have been presented more clearly? I'm trying to think of good ways to do this to bring up as constructive feedback, but I'm not great with lightsources myself, so I'm a bit low on ideas.
I think it is perfect. The classic dark evil that approaches. You can hardly make out what it is, but you know that it is evil. Think Mordor and the dark clouds that spread out across the land in preparation of the attack, there isn't really anything there, but it really conveys the feeling that evil approaches. And there's Spike, a shiny knight of Rohan who arrives just in time to assist the cornered people of Gondor. I think that this image is a perfect portrayal of the bright and good versus the dark and evil. That the diamond dogs are hard to make out in the darkness only adds to this feeling.
